Guisborough Centre

Our brand new Guisborough Centre is located near Guisborough Priory on the Prior Pursglove College campus. We can provide training and education to suit all levels and abilities, including courses for learners with learning difficulties and disabilities.

The Centre offers full-time further education courses in animal mangement, equine management and horticulture with degree level study in Animal Management being available from September 2009. There is also a range of part-time daytime and evening courses including floristry.

NEW for September 2009:
Foundation Degree Animal Management 
The foundation degree in animal management is a two year full-time course and can also be studied on a part-time basis.

  Option students from Guisborough raised £80 for the Haiti appeal by holding a tombola, cake and book sale.

Photo P Munster        Well done and thank you to Guisborough options and animal managment students who raised a total of £210.05 for Children in need by selling cakes, organising a staff vs students football match and a karaoke session. Students also had there photo's taken with Pudsey bear made by our floristry students.

Askham Bryan and Prior Pursglove held a joint Remembrance Day service / fundraising event at the Guisborough campus on Wednesday 11 November.

The Display and Poppy lady were done by 2nd year National Certificate in Floristry Students and one enterprising student made "poppy" cakes which were sold raising £110.93 for the Poppy appeal.

   Animal management students and staff at the Guisborough centre raised £68.27 for Macmillan cancer charity by holding a coffee morning. Cakes made by centre staff and tutors were sold by the students working on a 15 minute rota. The event was organised by Elaine Banfield who said that it was a really successful event that helped raise awareness of all the good work done by the charity.



Students studying on second year of the National Certificate in Floristry at Askham Bryan College in Guisborough provided the gorgeous floral displays for the Redcar and Cleveland Adult Learner's Awards ceremony which was held at the City Learning Centre in Eston, Middlesbrough on 13 May. The Mayor of Redcar and Cleveland presented award winners with bouquets that were also made by the students. This is the fifth year that the students have been invited to provide floral displays at the event.
