Outdoor Learning

Sitting in a classroom doesn’t work for everybody. We do most of our learning outdoors doing projects.

Whatever the reason - school wasn’t fun and you didn’t do so well. College is different. College is about working with us to get qualifications that you can use to get a job or go on to higher level qualifications… and you know you need qualifications.

Our qualifications are mostly practical, and to learn practical stuff, you need to be doing practical lessons. At least half your week with us will be practical. Yes there’s some reading, writing, numbers and computers involved, but then you need these skills in any job.

You can learn about: Horse Care, Animal Care, Agricultural Animals, Landscape Construction or Gardening... or you can do a combination.

Whatever you do you’ll be outdoors doing it, not in a classroom talking about it.

Exciting Future Begins For 'newton Rigg College' - The University of Cumbria and Askham Bryan College have finalised the transfer of further education courses at the university's Newton Rigg campus.
