Zoe’s climbing for Haiti: Askham Bryan College student Zoe Dryden is packing her bags ready for a trip to Africa to climb Mounts Meru an...

The students made a successful visit to the school where they carried out tree work and coppicing in the wildlife area which has had a makeover thanks to a Big Lottery Grant won by the school with the support of Askham Bryan College lecturer David Butterfield.
The Askham Bryan College students, who are in their first year of study for the National Diploma in Forestry and Arboriculture, also planted out some of the trees which came to the College as part of the Tree Appeal project launched by David Bellamy.
David Butterfield says: ‘The school were very grateful for the student’s hard work and the visit also gave the students an opportunity to hone their skills in the public domain. We are planning more of these exercises with the next one taking place at the York Model Railway Engineer’s site on 24 and 25 April.’
