A very special calf arrived at College on 14 January. This Red Roxy (from Corringham holsteins) was two weeks early so a little smaller than we would like. She was delivered as a frozen embryo nine months ago, this was then implanted into one of our Hereford heifers who carried her for the term of the pregnancy.
Farmers spend years improving the genetics of their herd and the process can be substantially speeded up by introducing proven bloodlines such as this.
