This programme involves a suite of qualifications that make up the award of Apprenticeship, including NVQ Level 2, Key Skills (Level 1), Emergency First Aid and two other legislative tests. You will attend College on a block release basis which is normally 6 one-week blocks in September and May.
NVQ level 2 options include mixed farming, livestock production, poultry production or agricultural crop production.
To qualify for LSC funding, you must start the programme before your 25th birthday.
Many successful students progress to an Advanced Apprenticeship or are offered permanent employment at their place of work as an agricultural worker, whilst others seek similar employment in other businesses.
Part time starts 5 October 2009 and costs £362
There are no formal entry requirements, although you must have a genuine interest and commitment to the agricultural industry.
