Main features

Incorporating the National Award, this course consists of various essential land-based technology subjects. You can then choose to specialise in construction plant operations, groundcare operations, or agricultural engineering. The course includes 400 hours of work experience. No previous formal work experience is required, but you do need a strong interest in vehicles and machine technology. 

Career opportunities include design and development, installation engineering, machinery manufacturer. Teaching, service management, technical sales, overseas development and owning your own business - although you may require higher level qualifications for some of these careers.

Our close links with Harper Adams University College guarantee progression through to higher education level in a variety of qualifications such as degrees or HND/Foundation Degrees in agricultural engineering, agricultural engineering with marketing and management, off-road vehicle design and engineering design.

Entry requirements

You will usually need a First Diploma in a related subject with a merit profile or at least 4 GCSEs at grade C or above (including mathematics and science) or equivalent qualifications. A satisfactory reference will also be required.
