Main features

On this course you will be trained and then assessed in pre-use safety, loading and operation of a fork lift truck. Candidates are endorsed accordign to the type of fork lift truck used in the assessment. 

Students can expect to cover the following to prepare them for this assessment.

  • Safety requirements relating to the use of a fork lift truck including use on the public highway
  • Driving with heavy loads under various conditions
  • Driving up, down and across slopes and over rough ground
  • Interpretation of instrument readings
  • Carrying out daily maintenance and pre-use checks to the fork lift
  • Instability and safe loading
  • Starting and driving the forklift
  • Lifting and travelling with a load and parking and securing the forklift

Clients to provide:

  • Protective clothing
  • Work boots preferably with safety toe caps

 Cost: £280 per person
