Department: Floristry
This is an introductory course. You are expected to have any prior knowledge or experience of the flower industry. You will gain a level 2 qualification by learning the theory behind many aspects of floristry and creating a variety of designs. A wide range of floristry techniques are involved, along with a high quantity of theory, including written and project work. You may also take part in trips, presentations, competitions, show work and demonstrations.
You will study at College for one day each week for 36 weeks in each year.
After successfully completing the course you could progress Advanced Apprenticeship/NVQ Level 3 in Floristry or the Advanced National Certificate in Floristry. Qualified and well-motivated people are in demand in all aspects of floristry.

We recommend GCSE mathematics and English at grade C or above but these are not compulsory.
