Forestry & Arboriculture

Modern forestry and arboriculture covers such diverse issues as eco-tourism, global warming and carbon footprints, as well as traditional management practices associated with the care of trees.

A wide range of skills is needed to manage forests and woodlands, ranging from practical skills to the ability to survey a tree or woodland and devise an appropriate management plan.

You will study and work in an environment which will take you from the woodland floor to the top of the tallest trees.  The College has its own arboretum and pinetum with fully equipped arboricultural stores.

The College works with local authorities, private estates and independent companies to provide a wide ranging experience in the forestry and arboricultural industries.  Different levels of courses are available from basic practical skills such as NPTC units to management level with the Foundation Degree.
