Main features

This course is an intesive session and may be more suitable for those with some previous expererience of chainsaw operation. Designed for those who anticipate seeking contractual work in professional forestry, amenity or utility arboricultural activities which is likely either immediately or at some future date to involve felling trees over 200 m (8") and/or aerial tree work.  This training can lead to assessment in the relevant NPTC CS Units.  Our instructors have considerable experience and are registered with the National Proficiency Test Council.

Course Content: 

  • Operational maintenance
  • Safety procedures
  • Use of protective clothing
  • Crosscutting felled timber
  • Stacking produce 
  • Felling techniques for trees between 200 mm (8") and 380 mm (15") 
  • Snedding and de-limbing
  • Taking down of hung up trees using hand tools.

Cost:
£630.00 per person including training, NPTC assessment and the hire of PPE for the week
