What courses are offered?
Foundation Module (PA1)
This compulsory module must be completed by all candidates before they proceed to any of the Applicator tests

Application Tests
Tractor Mounted Crop Sprayers (PA2a)
Hand Held Applicators eg Knapsack Sprayers (PA6a)
Fogging, Mists and Smokes (PA9)
Pesticide Granule Applicator (PA4)

Training can lead to a National Proficiency Test Council (NPTC) Certificate of Competence

What does the course cover?
Foundation Module

Handling and storage of chemicals
Selection of correct protective clothing
Interpretation of labels
Environmental factors
Legislation

PA2 covers you for a ground crop sprayer, boom type hydraulic nozzle and / or boom type rotary atomisers.  The equipment included in this test module is any mounted or trailed ground crop sprayer as specified previously where the boom is designed to be used parallel to the ground only.

PA6a covers hand held applicators, hydraulic nozzle and / or rotary atomiser types. The equipment included in this test module is any hand held and / or pedestrian controlled sprayer of the type specified above.

What do I need to provide?
Suitable protective clothing including nitrile gloves, face shield, wellingtons, 2 passport sized photographs, notepad and pen.  A calculator would be useful for the applicator courses as these involve calibrations for which basic arithmetic skills are required
