Department: Landscape Construction
This course is suitable if you are a new operative in the industry or an existing operative and want to broaden your knowledge and skills. Emphasis is placed on practical skills, with some classroom-based theory sessions. You will be taught by experienced tutors who have or are currently working in the industry [Course tutor Harry Turner has been appointed as both the UK Team Manager and as a judge in the landscape skill section of the World Skills Competition].
After the Course
If you are successful on the course you could consider progressing to qualifications such as the National Diploma in Horticulture.
Qualified and well-motivated people are in demand in all aspects of horticulture. There are also opportunities for self-employment.
You will usually need at least 4 GCSEs at grade E or above, normally to include English and mathematics, or equivalent qualifications.

· Carpentry and Joinery
· Investigating Hand Operations
· Introduction to Amenity and Decorative Horticulture
· Turf Operations
You will be assessed by a combination of continuous assessments and assignments.
