Main features
Training is delivered primarily in the workplace with Collegeattendance on a block release programme, consisting of six block weeks in the first year and five block weeks in the second year, if required.
Once successfully completed the programme, many students stay on at their work placement in employment as assistant greenkeepers or groundspeople. With further training, employment prospects are excellent as head greenkeepers or groundspeople. You can also progress to Advanced Apprenticeship/NVQ Leve 3 Sport Surface or Advanced National Certificate or National Diploma courses.
Entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements and your basic skills will be assessed interview. GCSE qualifications may be used to gain accreditation for some of the key skills. A work placement is also essential and the College can assist in finding a suitable placement.
