The Fantasy Farming League for Yorkshire beef and dairy farmers is once again being hosted by Askham Bryan College and is sponsored by ASDA and ABP
After the success of the previous two Fantasy Farming Projects, Fantasy Farming 3 is focusing on Wagyu Cattle, which are native to Japan. The Fantasy Farming Beef League has similar rules to fantasy football, but instead of managing players, five teams of farmers are managing two pens of Wagyu cattle housed in the National Beef Training Centre, York.
Update meetings will be held monthly during which industry leading speakers will cover topics such as nutrition, health and the supply chain. After attending the meetings, teams can use the information to alter different aspects of the cattle’s management, especially the composition of the feed rations.
