Here’s a great little video of our former Level 3 Agriculture student Lizzie Bradley as one of the ring girls last night at the Schau der Besten show (The Show of the Best) in Germany. Good luck in the competition today!
We would like to introduce to you some of our newest arrivals! Pygmy goats! McKinley (white) and Dusty (black) arrived in January and have been settling well into their new home within Askham Bryan Wildlife & Conservation Park.
Two of our BSc (Hons) Animal Management students, Charles Illing and Emma Shelton have started their data collection early for their dissertations which are based at Harewood Bird Garden, Leeds. Working alongside their supervisor, Alex Downing, they have been using thermal imaging equipment to look at the overall health of the flamingo’s and the Humbolt penguins feet. Both studies will focus on the impact of substrate on their feet and the presence of bumblefoot but they will also be looking into public knowledge and understanding of welfare within zoological collections.
Come along to our Employer Breakfast Event on March 7 to find out about the changes to apprenticeships and how these changes may affect you. There will also be an opportunity to speak with our Knowledgeable Apprenticeship Managers to find out about the range of apprenticeships that we have on offer.
