This course is designed to follow on as a natural progression from the tree climbing and aerial rescue courses offered by City & Guilds NPTC. The course will prepare candidates to undertake assessment in the

Level 3 Award in Aerial Cutting of Trees with a Chainsaw Using Free-Fall Techniques.

Course Content:

  • Health and safety and industry good practice
  • Carry out aerial cutting of trees with a chainsaw using free-fall techniques
  • Understand relevant health and safety, legislation and industry good practice
  • Understand how to carry out aerial cutting of trees with a chainsaw using free fall techniques

Entry Requirements

To undertake this unit candidates must have passed units 30, 31 & 38 (Award in Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross-cutting, Award in Felling & Processing Trees up to 380mm and Award in Accessing a Tree Using a Rope & Harness and Award in Aerial Tree Rescue Operations).
