Course at a glance
The FLEX course is offered around the Yorkshire region and was created for students aged 19 and over – with no upper age limit – who can study the course at either a level one or a level two and gain a nationally recognised qualification, alongside improving their confidence, professionalism, communication, and teamwork skills. It is also free for anyone claiming work-related benefits, and students could be eligible for a £15 a week bursary. The course is as flexible in nature and is as in name, and can be easily completed alongside prior work or family and childcare commitments. In addition to this, the uncapped upper age limit means you will meet people from all walks of life and professional or educational backgrounds.

FLEX Programmes with Askham Bryan College
The level one course takes place across twelve weeks, for two days per week, and covers units on health and safety and employability skills, as well as bush craft, working with animals and working in the community.
The level two course takes place across eight weeks, also for two days per week, and focuses on employability skills, bush craft, working with animal’s and working within the community.
