NEET Community Engagement Programme

Overview

If you're a young person who is unemployed, seeking direction and ideas for your future, we have something to get you involved in your community with our NEET (Young People Not in Education, Employment or Training) programme.

Description

The course is a 12 week programme, of 2 days a week. You will complete three qualifications in Health and Safety, First Aid and  Employability or Personal Development. The course is taught with bushcraft practical sessions for engagement covering shelter building, fire lighting, cooking and water filtering.

Courses will be starting:

Harrogate region – 8th January 2018 on Mondays and Tuesdays. Based at Harrogate Railway Football Club.
Leeds region – 10th January running on Wednesday and Thursday. Based at Hyde Park Methodist Church.
Scarborough region – 8th January running on Mondays and Tuesdays. Based at The Street.
Manchester Region – 10th January running on Wednesday and Fridays. Based at Carrington Equestrian Centre.


Qualifications achieved are:


• L2 Award in Health and Safety
• L2 Award in First Aid
• L1 Extended Certificate in Employability or Personal Development.


Students will be given free PPE to keep, bursary up to £400 depending on circumstances and celebration trip for achieving the qualifications.


This provision can be accessed by anybody 19 years or older and not in education, employment (over 16 hours) or training.
 

Entry Requirements

The course is available to anybody over 16 years old, claiming universal credit/other benefits or working less than 16 hours a week.

Further Study
