Level 2 Vehicle Technology
A broad introduction to vehicle technology and motorsports engineering, to prepare you for work or further study.
You will work on a variety of vehicles and learn about many aspects of vehicle technology. Course modules include health and safety, light vehicle maintenance, removing and refitting components, engine system principles, layout and operation of vehicle systems and the maintenance of wheels, tyres, steering and suspension systems. You may also get chance to be part of the motorsport team, preparing the College vehicles for competition in hill climbs, sprints and navigational rallies.
Usually at least 4 GCSEs at grade E or above including Maths and English (new GCSE grading level 3) with Science desirable. Alternatively a suitable Level 1 vocational qualification with English and Maths at Level 1.
You could progress to Level 3 Extended Diploma Vehicle Repair and Technology.
