Wakefield Enrolment Information 2020
Congratulations on receiving your results, we look forward to welcoming you onto your Animal Management or Equine course at our Wakefield campus. In preparation for your studies here are some points to consider:
Dates for your diary:
W/C 31st August: you will be participating in online induction and will be required to attend a number of online sessions that week, please ensure you have a device that will allow you access for this. By the end of this week you will receive your timetables. Online induction activities will commence as of 2nd September, this will be a mixture of self directed tasks and online with your course manager and fellow students via Teams. You will receive an email message from your course manager by the 2nd Sept with instructions as to links to your self directed activities and an invite to your Teams meetings. Teams Meetings will be as follows:
Thursday 3rd September: L3 Animal Management, Companion and Zoo
Friday 4th September: L2 Animal Care and Equine
W/C 7th September: this is the beginning of your induction week, this week will be online and will be a mixture of tutor led activities associated with your subject areas and online tasks / assessments and an individual 1-1 teams meeting with your course manager – information for this will be given to you at your induction slot.
W/C 14th September: this will be a mixture of online and in college (both Wakefield and York days) and will include all of your subject areas. This timetable will be in place until October study break at which point it will be reviewed in line with government guidance - your course manager will again give you this timetable at your induction day and discuss structure and explain further.

Staying Safe on Campus:

- Overalls: you will need to purchase overalls. We do have some second hand overalls at college that if you wish to purchase can be made available but please note we do not have a huge selection of sizes.
- Steel toe boots: these can be trainers, boots or wellies but they must have a steel toe.
- A waterproof jacket
- Stationery - a pen, paper, a folder
- A device that you can access Microsoft software - Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Although you will have sent a copy of your results into us please do bring a hard copy just in case we need to check these.
Please also ensure you bring some ID with you when you physically attend college on your first day (note this may not be a Monday depending on your timetable)
Transport for The Wakefield centre (only) has been organised for you . The pickup/ drop off point is at the National Express bus Stop located on Northgate, Wakefield – this is just before you reach the fountains on Bull Ring and is located just outside the entrance Bull Ring House by Rustica restaurant. This will depart Wakefield at 9.00am return departure from York 4.30pm. Masks will be required on college transport.
