Following the College’s nomination in the Further Education category, members of our HE and Marketing teams travelled to London to attend the annual Whatuni.com Student Choice Awards. Based on reviews by over 36,000 students and presented by comedian Katherine Ryan, the awards saw UK Higher Education institutions gain recognition across 15 categories. Whilst we didn’t win, the team did get to meet Katherine Ryan (comedian, writer, presenter and actress) who’s now a self-proclaimed Askham Bryan fan and celebrate with our partners, Harper Adams University.

We were proud to welcome stakeholders, shareholders, apprentices and employers to our Strategy Launch and Apprenticeship Awards Ceremony last night. The College’s CEO, Catherine Dixon and Executive Director for Apprenticeships, Sandra Burnhill revealed apprenticeship strategy and promotion of land-based education - including a newly developed level 5 apprenticeship for the land-based industry. A fantastic night was had by all - congratulations to our winners!
Welcome back from Aruba! Over the Easter break six of our Animal Management second year students took part in a trip to Aruba operated by Everything is Possible. The students gained invaluable experience with Desiree Eldering (Donkey Sanctuary Aruba) and Ricardo Contreras (Contreras Vets), raising over $500 which meant that they could adopt two of the donkeys. The money raised will go towards the maintenance, feeding and veterinary care for all of the donkeys at the sanctuary. Fantastic to see our College and leading Animal Management department represented internationally. Great work!
