Congratulations to Louise McCreadie, a second year Animal Management Student at York, on securing a scholarship for Eastern Florida State College. Louise is a keen footballer outside of College, having trialled and reached the final 32 for the England Ladies U17s Team at just 15 years old as well as being playing for South Yorkshire County U17’s and U18’s during her time here. At a recent football showcase her talent was spotted by an independent scout who has secured her a full scholarship. She will play for the college’s team before feeding into the main University where she can major in a subject of her choice. Louise’s fitness training starts in May this year to prepare her for the strict requirements in America. Good luck Louise!
We’re proud to be working with the International Sheep Dog Society to encourage our Agriculture students into the traditional industry with our very own Sheep Dog Training! The ISDS, which has over 6,000 members worldwide, are enthusiastic about supporting young people who are working towards agricultural qualifications to challenge what is thought to be an old-fashioned skill, using dogs to manage farm stock. Find out more about the exciting new training here: https://www.askham-bryan.ac.uk/news/international-sheep-dog-society-support-future-of-industry/
