Open Farm Sunday 2021

Askham Bryan College in partnership with LEAF are hosting this year’s Open Farm Sunday event on the 27th June 2021.

Visiting stations;

• The Dairy Cows and the Parlour. Milking takes place at 3pm and visitors will be able to observe via the viewing platform above the parlour.
• The Robotic Milker runs all day, milking 55 cows in our robot herd.
• The OptiDuo Feed refresher robot will be running all day so visitors can see how we use robots on the farm ensure our cows feed is constantly refreshed.
• Ewes and lambs.
• Tractor/farm machinery display.
• Gamekeeping demo area
• Hedgelaying demo- come and have a go!

Please be aware this is a ticketed event; tickets must be booked in advance and produced on arrival at the farm.

The free event takes place at Westfield Farm, Askham Bryan (YO23 3PR) and tickets go on sale from Saturday 22nd May at 9am.

About This Farm

Westfield Farm is a 500 acre grassland and arable farm. We grow maize, grass, wheat and sugar beet.

We milk 200 Holstien/Fresian cows through the parlour as well as a 55 cow Robot herd, milked through the robotic milker. We have 130 dairy youngstock on farm and 180 breeding ewes and lambs.
