What inspired you to pursue a career in your field?

I really enjoyed my time at agricultural college and I wanted to be that positive influence on future farmers.

What do you enjoy most about your role at the college?

I enjoy getting to teach both in the classroom and on the farm.

Areas of Interest and Expertise

I’m most interested in livestock. I have 10 years working within the dairy industry specialising in young stock rearing as well as an interest and experience in suckler cattle.

What advice would you give to students looking to succeed in your subject area?

My advice is to get out there and see as many different systems as you can. Travel and learn.

If your students had to describe you in three words, what would they say?

Approachable, knowledgeable, fair.

What book, movie, artist or podcast do you always recommend?

My favourite book is ‘The Book Thief’ by Markus Zusak.
