Level 2 Horticulture Operative Apprenticeship student wins Health and Public Service apprentice of the year

Level 2 Horticulture Operative Apprenticeship student, Chris Coles wins Health and Public Service apprentice of the year at theΒ North Yorkshire Apprenticeship Awards 2025.

Chris won out of two other finalists for his apprenticeship within Leeds City Council.

Chris said:”Completing the course was a huge step into me really kickstarting my career in horticulture, gaining the qualification has meant I now have a fantastic base to work from across the industry and can now hopefully go on to gain further qualifications throughout my career. The course was split between worked based learning and in college every few weeks for a block week and doing an apprenticeship, especially at my age was a fantastic way to gain the qualification and start a new career”

Four other apprenticeship students were also nominated across other categories, all winning a special recognition certificates.
