Askham Bryan College receives generous equipment donation from Selwood UK

Askham Bryan College has received a generous donation of a pump and lighting tower from Selwood UK to help support their Construction Plant Apprenticeship programmes.

This invaluable piece of equipment will be used by Level 2 and Level 3 apprentices as part ofย  their Inspecting and Configuring Machinery unit, providing hands-on experience with industry-standard machinery.

This donation represents a significant enhancement to training resources, allowing apprentices, both from Selwood and other leading companies, to develop their skills on familiar, high-quality equipment. The equipment ensures learners are better prepared for the demands of the construction plant industry.

Askham Bryan College was delighted to welcome Selwood representatives to college for the official handover. This included:

  • Michael Lindley (Senior Technical Support Engineer)
  • Reece Edwards (Head of Product and Service)
  • David Brownlie (Leeds & Hull Branch Manager)
  • Robert Cook (Driver, loader crane operator)
  • Representing Askham Bryan College were Apprenticeship Course Managers Nathan Thatcher, Chris Suttill, James Thompson, and Simon Cunningham.

Reece Edwards said: “It’s great that we are able to support not just Selwood own apprentices, but all who study engineering at Askham Bryan.”

This collaboration marks another step forward in strengthening industry-college partnerships and investing in the future of skilled plant engineers.
