Askham Bryan Wildlife and Conservation Park co-hosts with The Yorkshire Wildlife Park for The British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums (BIAZA) for their Conservation Conference 2025.

            Held across three days, 100 conservation professionals visited the Wildlife Park on Tuesday, 21 October during the conference. ย
The event focused onย exploring how smaller zoos can play an active and effective role in conservation efforts. Some of the projects include the award-winning pollinator project, SZN UK Dung Beetle Project, breeding programs for critically endangered species, and so much more.ย
Attendees also had the opportunity to hear from Animal Management students, from both further and higher education programmes, who shared insights into the conservation initiatives they have been involved in.ย
Lauren Lane, Askham Bryan Wildlife and Conservation Park Manager said: โA great afternoon showcasing our wonderful conservation projects and facilities, we welcomed conservation professionals from across the UK to our beautiful Wildlife Park who also got the chance to meet our students and staff who are leading on so many wonderful initiatives to save species from extinctionโ.ย
The Park will be closed over the winter period to carry out essential maintenance and renovations, and to prepare for some exciting new arrivals, with the aim of reopening in February.ย
