Qualification Information

It covers safe driving of a tractor, pre-use maintenance, safety checks and recognition of controls and instruments. The test of covers the use of the tractor in a range of situations: driving safely and correctly around a suitable course (including reversing with a trailer), trailer hitching and, attaching 3-point linkage.

Entry Requirements

Please note that candidates must have some prior experience of tractor driving prior to taking this course. The minimum age for candidates taking the certificate of competence is 16 years old, there is no upper age limit. Please be advised that this qualification does not replace any legal requirements for a driving licence.

Other Important Information

City and Guilds will no longer produce physical skills card upon a successful completion of this accreditation. Candidates can expect to receive a digital skills card which they will be able to access through their online portal. The training centre will be unable to send or provide this upon completion. All candidates will also need to provide ID on the day of their assessment as proof of identification. Failure to do this may result in your assessment being suspended.
