Key Information

Learn in a supportive and engaging environment.

 

This is a 5-week programme that will investigate different areas of the workplace within sports! This short course will assist you gain an additional qualification within a specific field and enable you to progress onto further education inside sport. The three units you can expect in this course are as follows:

Study skills – This unit will help you to understand how you can develop your personal learning skills, understand information provided as well as using it, and will teach you how to plan, manage and produce work at a high standard.

Health and Nutrition – This unit will teach you about the major food groups, the importance of nutrition to health and wellbeing, and help you understand how to manage a healthy and balanced diet.

Working in Sport and Active Leisure – This unit will dive into the sport and active leisure sector, help you to identify different job opportunities in the industry, help you to understand the skills and qualifications needed to work in the sector and finally, assist you in planning your own development and learning to prepare you for a career in sports and active leisure.

For 19+ learners, the course is Free if you meet entitlement requirements. For example- British Citizen/ Residency in the UK for 3 years, unemployed, on benefits or a low income. If none of these apply, a fee will be charged.
