Operate a Mower

  • Carry out a basic risk assessment
  • Health and safety legislation underpinning machine operation
  • Appropriate PPE for mower operation
  • Key features of the equipment being used
  • Controls and instruments relating to the equipment being used
  • Check and maintain the equipment being used
  • Adjust the cutting units
  • Safely operate a mower

Use and maintain Ride on Powered Equipment

  • Set up, use and maintain ride-on powered equipment
  • Work safely and minimise environmental damage
  • Operating principles of powered equipment
  • Current health and safety legislation and environmental good practice

Entry Requirements

The minimum age limit for Candidates taking Certificates of Competence is 16 years. There is no upper age limit.

Other Important Information

City and Guilds will no longer produce physical skills card upon a successful completion of this accreditation. Candidates can expect to receive a digital skills card which they will be able to access through their online portal. The training centre will be unable to send or provide this upon completion. All candidates will also need to provide ID on the day of their assessment as proof of identification. Failure to do this may result in your assessment being suspended.
