Askham Bryan College apprenticeship students win two awards at the Land-Based Environment Learner event 2025

At this years prestigious Land-Based & Environment Learner of the year awards, Askham Bryan College learners scooped two awards.
The ceremony recognised outstanding talent and achievements across multiple areas of the land-based and environment sector, celebrating excellence from learners in further education and higher education, as well as those undertaking apprenticeships within the sector.
Our winners from Askham Bryan College were:
Rebecca Jordan – Level 3 Senior Equine Groom Apprenticeship Student
Will Smith – Level 2 Arborist Apprenticeship Student
An honorary mention also goes to our Higher Education and other Apprenticeship students who were also nominated for an award at this years event.
Jess Rangeley – BSc (Hons) Animal Management with Science
Rhys Holding – BSc (Hons) Agriculture
Charlotte Buckley – BSc (Hons) Veterinary Nursing (Top-Up)
Louis Allenby – Level 2 Golf Greenkeeper Apprenticeship Student
Ritchie Bywater, Head of Apprenticeships said: “Rebecca Jordan (Equine) and Will Smith (Arboriculture) winning their national awards at the LBEL ceremony demonstrates their knowledge, skills, resilience, dedication and commitment to their respective industries. This national recognition just continues to show the value of apprenticeships to employers and with the prize being scooped in the Arb and Forestry category, we have now won this for several years in a row, further demonstrating the excellent training on offer at Askham Bryan College.”
