Askham Bryan College winners in the 2020 Star of the Future Awards

Date: 18th September 2020

Askham Bryan College is thrilled to announce our apprentices who won at yesterday's Construction Plant-Hire Association Star of the Future awards ceremony.

Peter Chapman, Lecturer in Construction Plant Maintenance, Engineering at Askham Bryan College said, "Congratulations to all our nominees and winners Lea Poole, Brandon Welham and Iveta Tomasevska. Lea continues to develop her knowledge and skills during the third year of her apprenticeship and we are absolutely delighted she has been awarded the Level 3 Regional Plant technician award.  Well done to Joe Adcock who received 'Highly Commended' in the same category.  Brandon Welham has worked consistently throughout the two years of his Plant Mechanics apprenticeship and we are pleased the industry has recognised this by awarding Brandon the 2020 Plant Mechanics Regional Apprenticeship award. We are looking forward to Brandon commencing the Level 3 Plant Technicians apprenticeship in October. And finally, a big congratulations to Iveta Tomasevska, who is part of the Askham Bryan College inaugural training programme for apprentice Hire Controllers. Askham Bryan College is extremely pleased Iveta has been awarded the National Hire Controller Stars of the Future Award. Iveta consistently works to the highest of standards and is constantly developing her skills and knowledge of the Plant industry. I have every confidence that Iveta has a very bright future ahead of her and I predict a management role is well within her grasp in the not too distant future."
