Askham Bryan Wildlife and Conservation Park are celebrating the arrival of two rare Boreray lambs at their onsite Heritage Conservation Farm.

The Heritage Farm opened to visitors in September 2024, and the two bundles of joy are the first lambs born from this breed this year. As one of the UK’s most endangered native sheep breeds, each birth is an important step in helping to protect their future.

These hardy animals are known for their striking appearance, with naturally shedding wool and impressive curved horns that develop as they mature.

Tilly McGill, Deputy Animal Sciences & Conservation Manager, said: “The new arrivals are already thriving under the careful watch of our experienced Heritage Conservation Farm team. Visitors can look forward to seeing them exploring their enclosure, bounding with energy and curiosity as they settle into their new surroundings over the Easter period.”

The Wildlife Park is now open for the Easter Holidays until Sunday 12th April 2026, where visitors are encouraged to come and meet these special new arrivals and learn more about the park’s conservation work.

For more information on opening times and to book your place visit their website.
