Saltwell Park
This large greenspace is the perfect day out for families and friends. The park welcomes its visitors with their very own peacocks, guinea pigs, chickens, rabbits and more! Further down, you can find floral arrangements, a Japanese garden, a large lake by an open field for games and picnics, a tearoom, a dog play area, kids play area, sculptures and much more!

Angel of the North
Completed in 1998, the Angel of the North is one of the most iconic landmarks in the UK. Standing 65 feet tall and 177 feet wide, the towering angel is a huge tourist attraction. This location is the perfect spot for photos, picnics, and a bite of Geordie culture!

The Baltic
Situated by the River Tyne, this centre for contemporary art, features two floors of mind provoking art, two viewing decks to gaze over the Newcastle / Gateshead area, a cafe, shop, library, sensory room and a remarkable rooftop restaurant.

Metrocentre
Famously known as Europe’s largest covered shopping centre, the Meterocentre is the perfect place to visit. The mall holds popular shops, to ‘Clip ‘n Climb’ (a climbing zone for all ages), Treetop mini golf, arcades, light bites, dine ins and much more! Whether for a shopping spree, activities, food or drinks, the mall offers fun for the whole family.

Quayside Market
Open every Sunday, the Quayside market located by the River Tyne in between Gateshead and Newcastle is the perfect stroll. The market includes small independent stalls of homemade trinkets, collectables and incredible food and drinks. There are global style street food stalls ranging from American to Japanese, Mexican, Venezuelan, Greek, and an abundance more. Don’t forget to try our favourite, the Geordie bangers!
