Local Skills Improvement Plan

Askham Bryan is taking bold steps on its Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP) with the UK government’s funding, looking to install cutting-edge equipment to enhance horticulture, agriculture, and food production.

The tower farm and farm bot project, alongside teacher training, will immerse students in robotics, automation, and basic programming. With our proposed urban micro farm, we’ll help promote solutions for climate change and food scarcity, teaching sustainable practices amplified by digital innovation. Thanks to the local skills improvement fund, we’re also diving into artificial intelligence and mixed reality, reshaping the future of learning.
