What inspired you to pursue a career in your field?

I was inspired to pursue a career in education through my time at Askham Bryan as a student. I found a passion for teaching through the Education and Leadership module.

What do you enjoy most about your role at the college?

I enjoy interacting with the next generation of veterinary staff and preparing them for their future roles.

What is your favourite animal to work with and why?

My favourite animal to work with is a springer spaniel because they’re full of energy and have lots of character.

Areas of Interest and Expertise

My area of interest is pharmacology and exotics.

What advice would you give to students looking to succeed in your subject area?

My advice is to ask questions as it is important to understand why something is done, along with the how.

What book, movie, artist or podcast do you always recommend?

I would always recommend the BSAVA textbook of Veterinary Nursing to my students.
