What inspired you to pursue a career in your field?

I chose to pursue a career in veterinary nursing because I’ve always felt a deep connection with animals and a strong desire to improve their wellbeing. The role allows me to combine compassion with hands-on, practical work, supporting both animals and the people who care for them. Veterinary nursing offers constant learning, meaningful responsibility, and the chance to make a real difference every day.

What do you enjoy most about your role at the college?

I enjoy my role in teaching veterinary nurses because it allows me to share my knowledge, experience, and passion with others who are just beginning their journey in the profession. Supporting students as they develop confidence and practical skills is incredibly rewarding, and seeing their progression reminds me why I entered the field myself.

What is your favourite animal to work with and why?

My favourite animal to work with are dogs specifically spaniels as I love how crazy they are.

Areas of Interest and Expertise

My area of expertise is consult nursing, and I value this role because it allows me to build meaningful relationships with clients while directly supporting the health and wellbeing of their pets. Consult nursing combines clinical knowledge with communication and problem-solving, giving me the opportunity to educate owners, tailor care plans, and make a real difference in day-to-day patient management. I enjoy the autonomy, the variety, and the chance to empower clients with the information they need to make the best decisions for their animals.

If your students had to describe you in three words, what would they say?

Bubbly, helpful, personable.
